The perfect example of how functionality in website design is sometimes far more important than the websites aesthetics. The UK Flow MRD Group, funded by Leukaemia Research and based at the Birmingham Children’s Hospital, uses Flow cytometry to identify Minimal Residual Disease in children who are being treated for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. The UK Flow MRD Group had a website written in PHP and MySQL that was in need of some website redevelopment.
The website was in need of a new navigational structure, that supported more website pages that were used to display more information about the organisation, and new pages that only lab members had access to. The site also required some bespoke changes to the original PHP code helped lab technicians in their research, and created “printer friendly” HTML pages.
